HOW I CAN HELP

What I can help with

I offer counselling for adults and young people aged 16+ across the UK, through secure online and telephone sessions. I specialise in the four areas below. I also work with many of the other reasons people come to counselling, which you'll find further down the page.

A quiet country road lined with tall trees at sunrise, with soft golden light shining low through the trunks across the road and a wheat field glowing beside it.

Areas I specialise in

Complex trauma/C-PTSD

Complex trauma usually comes from difficult experiences that went on over time, rather than a single event — for example in childhood, or in an abusive or controlling relationship. It can affect how you feel about yourself, how you relate to other people, and how safe you feel in your own body. I work in a trauma-informed way, at a pace that feels manageable.

Sight loss

I'm an accredited sight loss counsellor and I live with sight loss myself. Whether your sight loss is recent or something you've lived with for years, we can talk about adjustment, loss, identity, independence and dealing with other people's assumptions.

Chronic health conditions

Support with the emotional side of living with a long-term health condition or impairment: adjusting to a diagnosis, coping with changing symptoms and energy, grieving how things used to be, and finding ways to manage day to day.

Neurodiversity-affirming therapy

Neurodiversity-affirming counselling for autistic people, people with ADHD and other neurodivergent people. The aim isn't to make you less neurodivergent. We might look at masking, burnout, executive functioning, a recent or late diagnosis, or simply what it's been like to live in a world that often isn't set up for you.

Other reasons you may seek counselling

You don't need to fit into one of the areas I specialise in to work with me. I also offer counselling for:

  • Addiction and substance misuse
Support with addictive behaviours and building healthier habits.
  • Anger
Understanding what sits underneath your anger and finding healthier ways to manage it.
  • Anxiety
Support with worry, panic and anxiety that gets in the way of everyday life.
  • Depression and low mood
Support with experiencing and managing depression.
  • Grief and loss
Support when you're dealing with bereavement or other kinds of loss.
  • LGBTQIA+ affirmative support
Support for those exploring gender, sexuality, or identity, offered from the perspective of a respectful and affirming ally.
  • Life transitions and identity
Big changes — a diagnosis, a relationship ending, a change of work or home, becoming a parent, retirement — can shake how you see yourself. Counselling gives you time to make sense of what's changed, and to explore questions about who you are now.
  • Living with disability
Support with the emotional side of living with a disability, including adjustment, loss, identity, independence and dealing with other people's assumptions.
  • Relationship difficulties
Support with difficulties in relationships with partners, family, friends or colleagues.
  • Self-esteem and self-confidence
Support in building a kinder view of yourself and developing self-confidence.
  • Stress & workplace burnout
Practical ways to manage stress, recover from workplace burnout, set boundaries you can keep, and look at the physical toll of long-term exhaustion.
  • Trauma and PTSD
Support with the effects of traumatic experiences and the symptoms that can follow.
